Non destructive evaluation procedures dedicated to the rail inspection were operated when tests were effected on board a subway train. The difficult in-operating conditions lead to the design of a specific double-coils and double frequencies sensor that delivers 8 complementary signals. The detection problem of minor defects may be effected thanks to two approaches; one heuristic method that defines decision borders in signal space and another one based on wavelet projections with a data fusion approach. The methods are validated statistically on a labelled defects data set with the help of COR curves.
