The performance of impulse turbines for wave power conversion was analyzed with air flow rectification system and investigated experimentally by model testing. Running and starting characteristics in irregular ocean waves were investigated by computer simulation. A quasi-steady state analysis accounting energy efficiency of oscillating water column (OWC) suggested a suitable geometry for the impulse turbine.
