In order to meet the growing needs of offshore industry for robots capable of deep sea operations a new autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) named Alistar was developed. Alistar is composed of two main versions namely shallow water and deep and ultradeep categories consisting of components like propellers, onboard computers and battery along with basic software. The vehicle contains sufficient data storage for gathered raw data during mission. It is also less sensitive to the meteorological conditions for its operations and only requires an unsophisticated service vessel deployment.
