The Pipeline industry is realizing the significant value that GIS adds to their integrity management programs. Programs are under development and refinement to improve the safety, efficiency, and profitability of this energy transportation infrastructure through effective data integration, analysis, and decision support methods. Case studies will be presented, showing such an implementation, using comprehensive In Line Inspection (ILI) data, Direct Assessment, and other complementary data sources for a large regional gas transmission system and liquid pipelines, complete with experience, benefits and examples.
