Mazda's MZR 1.4/1.6L are newly developed 14 engines, which live up Mazda's 'Zoom-Zoom' message: the love for motion. They are installed into Mazda models as the second product of a new engine series, the MZR range. Already the MZR 1.8/2.0/2.3L engines have been successfully introduced into Mazda6. The new engines deliver high output (1.4L with 61 kw and 122 Nm torque; 1.6L with 77kw and 145Nm torque). At the same time they achieve a pleasant engine sound, which was enabled by increased rigidity and weight reduction oft he engine. Furthermore excellent fuel efficiency and low emissions could be realized by improved engine combustion and reduced frictional losses.is place an abstract should be inserted. This article desribes the technical features of the engine mounted on the new Mazda 3.
