The use of active noise control systems within an aircraft cabin was presented. To get the minimum number and the optimum positions for the secondary sources and the error sensors, evaluations on a rectangular area, discretized by finite elements were performed in the frequency domain. A new method, aimed at reducing the necessary calculation number was also established. Starting from a high number of secondary sources and error sensors, it was found that the number was reduced with only a few iterations while simultaneously the optimum positions were achieved.
