This project shows that various production processes can be logically combined with one another, in this case with Vacural die-casting, sand mould casting and extrusion press technology. The notable feature of the roof-section on the Crossfire coupe is clearly displayed in full view showing cast-components as part of the finished vehicle. Thin-walled, large surface components, manufactured using the Vacural die-casting technique, have been successfully produced. These components are heat-treated in order to attain high-strength properties, and then surface-blasted to achieve the right aesthetic and optical requirements. The products used are currently generated in full mass-production.
