Contemporary engineering systems are characterized by increasing complexity. Many elements of the system components, besides the realized function within the system, have a defined functional, parametric, informative and strength excess. The system consisting of the elements has unintentional presumable redundant reliability structure. The testing presumable redundancy structure was examplified on the aircraft. Probability of negative results of the aircraft failure during its flight, for the safety and for the carried out task, was an accepted measure of the redundancy. Using an existing system for collecting data on failures of the aircraft, the system of reliability analysis and operational measures of redundancy were determined in relation to the safety and the performed tasks. An algorithm for developing mathematical models and distribution of an aircraft redundancy rates was described.
