Main aspects of the application of modern frictional carbon-carbon materials in heavy-duty brakes of carriers are considered by the example of airplane wheels. Possible ways of obtaining required performance characteristics based on the selection of optimal technological regimes of brake disc production are discussed. Complex studies and trial tests may lead to the solution of problems of the efficiency and life of brakes. Today a number of Russian airplane types have brakes with carbon discs. In this connection the energetic and force loads of the brakes can change in very large areas of application.
