The authors present measurement results for IEEE 802.11g ad-hoc networks in different outdoor scenarios with moving and stationary vehicles. Hereby they investigate the signal strength compared to a theoretical model and the throughput for different experimental settings. It will be shown how the use of external antennas influences the throughput and communication range of ad-hoc networks.
