With the development of highway transportation, there being a rapid increasing in the number of highway bridges. On one hand, it creates a good condition for the development of our economy, on the other hand, due to the security risks often bring up a lot of tragic accidents, the issue about regular maintenance of the bridge becomes more and more important. Having taken all above mentioned into consideration, this paper designed a special vehicle named "Viaduct Maintenance Multifunction Vehicle ". The vehicle mainly adopted the plane bear and gear combination as chassis rotary mechanism; used rack and gear meshing as elevating mechanism, and realized the trusss fliping by pneumatic circuit. As well as, this paper included SCM system and wireless remote control technology, through them multifunctional special vehicle could provide protection for workers accomplishing altitude operations in the process of the viaduct repair and maintenance. Finally, we used three-dimensional software Solidworks for motion simulation to verify its functionality.
