Since a long time in power industry there has been existing a problem of balance determination of power delivered from a.c. network to traction suply substations. The problem was caused by difficulties in evaluation of energy consumption by traction vehicles and other electrical equipment. In case of d.c. traction network there can be observed some differences in measurements results between a.c. voltage and rectified voltage sides. Accordingly to the above difficulties there are also problems with measure verification of drive optimal control however it is clear that it has an important meaning for energy consumption minimization both for single high power drives /as locomotives, suburban trains/ and big number of small and medium power drive systems / as auxiliary machines fans, pumps etc./ as well. In traction it is important to induce the train craw to do an energy saving driving.
