The design of waveguide beamforming networks for satellite antenna applications is described. H-plane short-slot couplers are the major component, and a rigorous analysis of such couplers and their interconnections is presented. A comparison between theory and experiment is made for a network designed for the AUSSAT-B Western Australia spot beam.
