Secondary power supplies for use in space have particularly harsh requirements for size, weight, reliability, and performance, and often each is designed to unique system requirements. In addition, the system design process is one of constant adjustments of requirements, so the engineer must perform several redesign iterations. An expert system is described that is being used to help in this design process.
