A battle is raging among European and US airlines for a slice of the lucrative airline reservation market in Europe. Two major consortia have been established to develop integrated computerized reservation systems; IBM has won large parts of both deals, but by the time the systems have been developed, many European travel agents may have already chosen systems from the US.
