The development of modern means of ground transportation (automobiles, railroad transport, tractors, etc.) calls for a relatively accurate determination of the parameters of motion and the service-technological characteristics (speed, route covered, acceleration, processed area, and percentage slipping). All these parameters may be obtained by means of a radar Doppler velocimeter, whose running values, together with the data from other pickups, are processed in an appropriate computer. An analysis of one- and two-beam radar velocimeters is presented.
