The mechanism of streaming current occurring in flows of liquefied gas is explained in terms of the liquid/gas ratio inside the fluid. The different electrical potentials generated during the various phases of the unloading of a LNG boat are then analyzed. The streaming potential generated inside the pipe at the beginning of the unloading is equal to several kV.
