A concept manufacturing system for the manufacture of aluminium structures has already been published. This latest paper will identify and discuss the developments that have been achieved in transferring the manufacturing concept into a real manufacturing system. The feasibliity of the system is proven using conventional tools and equipment, manufacturing processes and equipment defined and an operational layout developed. Full manufacturing cost, from investment to expense will also be furnished, demonstrating a most favourable comparison with a comparable (coated) steel design.
