The fabrication procedures of the heavy thick and large size of titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V ELI hemisphere were established. The material properties were evaluated for the base metal and welded zone. These results satisfied the requirement as the titanium alloy Ti-6Al-45V ELI. The titanium alloy Ti-6Al-5V ELI was confirmed to be one of the most applicable material for the pressure hull of the 6500 m class deep submergence research vehicle.
