This paper highlights the methodology and results of Salt River Project's (SRP) comprehensive electric vehicle emission impact study. Although there have been studies done in the past, they are more of the regional or national level, SRP felt it was necessary to understand the impacts pertaining to our mix of generation and dispatching practices. Because of the complexity involved in performing a study of this magnitude, SRP formed an Electric Vehicle Pollutant Impact Study Advisory Team. The team included members from Generation Planning, Research and Development, Corporate Economics & Forecasting, Environmental Services, and Power Generation. Two scenarios were studied, a low efficiency and high efficiency in order to understand the sensitivity of the results to electric vehicle efficiency.
