The Electromobile Club of Switzerland (ECS) is launching an innovative system for recharging electric vehicles while parked. As opposed to other, more elaborate systems the concept allows the use of very simple and therefore inexpensive charging outlets. Needing modest investments only, these can be installed anywhere. After a successful 2-year pilot trial in Bern, this system is now being introduced in standardized form across Switzerland. The 'Park & Charge' system offers electric vehicle drivers the convenience of recharging at accessible locations, e.g. at Park & Ride points, train stations, parking buildings, supermarkets, etc. Our charging stations may be purchased and run by municipalities or communities, cooperatives, power utilities, business enterprises, chain stores, sponsors, etc. Central administration and energy imputation all over Switzerland is provided by 'Park & Ride', a service by the Electromobile Club ECS, in cooperation with ELVIA Insurances of Switzerland.
