The leak noise is one of the types of aerodynamic noises. It arises in case of false design or manufacturing of the vehicle's passenger compartment seals (doors, windows, vent openings), as well as in the case of not completely closed windows. At high speeds zones of low air pressure are formed on the lateral sides of the body. If the door or window seals do not resist to the pressure difference, due to the seal deformations gaps will be formed and an air flow will appear through the gap. The ejecting air flow generates a specific noise that can be perceived as very unpleasant. For this reasons it is very important to know the mechanisms of the creation of this noise and of its transmission from the source to the passenger compartment.
