Electric vehicles (EVs) are increasingly used because of a reduction in fossil fuels due to their destructive environmental effects. High penetration of EVs leads to installing charging stations across the world. Pricing of charging stations is an ongoing topic in recent years and has been considered in many studies. Pricing schemes are important for both sides of the charging procedure (service provider and EVs' owner) and have to be considered in the EV industry. Classification of current charging station pricing schemes is the main concern in this chapter; they are based on mechanisms that achieve the real price of electricity in such a way that the charging station achieves an optimal profit that is fair with customer satisfaction and reduces adverse impacts on the electricity network. It is assumed that the charging stations are worked in a smart grid platform. In this chapter, despite understanding the basic concept of pricing in charging stations, a variety of dynamic charging pricing models proposed in scientific studies are explained and classification of them is provided. In addition, pricing models of discharging power to the grid are also discussed, followed by some of the charging pricing currently used in the world. In the end, by analyzing the different methods of dynamic charging pricing, the capabilities of each method are explained and advantages and disadvantages of each method are clarified and, finally, conclusions will be drawn from discussions done in this chapter.
