This chapter presents the theoretical formulation of the thin‐walled girder bridge with single symmetric cross section. The contact responses of the two wheels for a single‐axle test vehicle are back‐calculated from the vehicle responses and then separated into the vertical and torsional response. The vehicle frequencies may have magnitudes that are too outstanding in the vehicle spectrum for the bridge frequencies to be identified. The chapter utilizes the wavelet transform to recover separately the vertical and torsional mode shapes of the thin‐walled beam from the contact responses of a passing single‐axle test vehicle, which was not attempted previously. It aims to verify the reliability of the proposed method for constructing the vertical and torsional mode shapes. The chapter also presents a parametric study to assess the effects of vehicle's damping, eccentricity, speed, and pavement roughness.
