Building mathematical models of the AC drives and power converters is the first step towards the design and implementation of the control systems. This chapter presents the mathematical models of the machine drives and power converter in a uniform way that firstly uses space vector description of the physical variables such as voltage, current and flux, and secondly converts the space vector based model to various reference frames.
