Webinar: Driving Global Roadways Research with Real-World Vehicle Data Analytics Platform NTDAS

Presentation and discussion of the possibilities of US Highway data for research in Europe using NTDAS

14.11.2024: 15 - 16 Uhr
Presentation and Discussion in English.

The National Transportation Data & Analytics Solution (NTDAS) is a platform offering highly granular (5-min), comprehensive time and speed-related traffic data for the entire U.S. National Highway System, including border crossings with Canada and Mexico. While focused on the U.S., this data can be extrapolated to non-US geographies to derive insights and metrics for comparable regions or cities in other countries, including Germany. In this workshop, IEEE experts will demonstrate how NTDAS can support non-US transportation research through statistical extrapolation, with validation. Examples of multi-disciplinary use cases for which this methodology can be implemented include assessing the impact of global congestion, determining proxy congestion patterns, understanding critical road network disruptions, such as long-term bridge closures, and evaluating optimal locations for electric vehicle charging stations. We will also explore additional possibilities for utilizing and visualizing traffic data through NTDAS. Attendees are encouraged to provide feedback on the platform’s methodology and its potential applications for Germany. The event will take place online on Thursday, 14 November 2024 from 3 - 4 pm. Registration is free of charge at https://fid-move.de/en/the-fid/events. You will receive the access data shortly before the event.
