The invention belongs to the technical field of traffic sign recognition, particularly relates to a road traffic sign recognition system based on machine vision, and aims to solve problems that an existing road traffic sign recognition system generally indicates traffic actions of vehicles or pedestrians through a simple sign, the traffic actions are not easily perceived by the pedestrians, and dangerous accidents may occur. The road traffic sign recognition system comprises a road body, wherein stand columns are arranged on the two sides of an outer wall of the top of the road body, outer walls of top ends of the stand columns are fixedly provided with the same rain shelter through bolts, and an inner wall of the top of the rain shelter is fixedly provided with a control box through bolts. The control box controls a second projector to project the information passing through a zebra crossing body onto the zebra crossing body, and in this way, the traffic indication information can be directly displayed in front of people from a far distance, so people can fully pay attention to the existence of the warning information.
