With the increasing popularity of smart phones and motor vehicles, the blind driving behavior in road traffic is becoming more and more common, which has an adverse impact on traffic flow. Based on the analysis of the influence of blind driving behavior, this paper proposes a traffic flow simulation model by means of cellular automaton (CA). More detailed cell lengths are used, and a driving model is established. In addition, a dynamic safety distance model is adopted in vehicle speed updating and lane change model. Through the division of the degree of blind driving, the blind driving behavior is quantitatively modeled. Case studies of single and dual lanes are conducted and the effects of blind driving probability on road traffic flow and the frequency of traffic accidents are analyzed from multiple perspectives. The research results show that traffic operation process can be well simulated using the established model.
