Location and spacing of interchanges on freeways has pronounced effect upon transportation system of a city; widely spaced interchanges do not provide needed service; on other hand, too many interchanges result in loss of speed and capacity; bases for spacing of interchanges, including schemes for increasing operational efficiency, are presented.
