Program conducted by U S Army Aviation Materiel Laboratories (USAAVLABS) to develop cargo restraint system for helicopters that would be more responsive to operational and safety requirements; analysis of previously conducted helicopter crash tests and normal operations demonstrated that "dynamic" criteria are more appropriate than current "static" criteria; restraint system incorporating energy absorption link offers most responsive design arrangement for system designed against "dynamic" criteria; counterflexing wire energy absorption restraint system suitable for military potential tests is in progress.
