Paper suggests most favorable distribution, as regards longitudinal stress considerations, for several representative modern tankers, so that cargo distribution patterns may be established broadly for similar types of tankers; effect of varying cargo density over wide range; tankers considered range from 300 to 600 ft in length; all are single screw vessels except one, which is twin screw.
