Airport, at altitude of 5300 ft, can handle 200,000 passengers per year; terminal building, customs hall and control tower described; five adjoining buildings of East African Airways described; due to wind conditions, only one runway was necessary; black cotton soil, 2-3 ft thick, was removed; laval sheet below soil used as foundation; gap-graded mix used in concreting; refuelling facilities.
