Reference is made to study of brake usage of cars with different drivers operating over 4 selected routes; results of study are used to formulate 2 tests which should replace existing fade test; proposed tests simulate as closely as possible maximum braking conditions recorded on 4 routes, and test specification for any car may be arrived at by substituting known car characteristics into formulas; test schedule is derived for typical car, and results obtained presented and interpreted.
