In Nov 1963 first research rocket carrying sodium vapor payload was launched from station established by Indian National Committee for Space Research; project is start of space research on Indian soil; rocket payload and photographic equipment used for recording observations are described; techniques for determination of atmospheric winds, turbulence and temperature measurements are reported; notes are included on future program.
