Constanta and Galati, built by Hitachi Zosen for Industrial Export, are each capable of variety of trawling operations and of functioning as combined mother ship and fish factory; length oa 93. 10 m, breadth 15.60 m, depth 9.10 m, load draft 4.95 m, gross 3631 tons; father and son machinery installation utilizes Burmeister and Wain units, constructed by Hitachi; 1210 bhp engine provides propulsive power during fishing while 1040 bhp unit generates electricity to power factory equipment; both are used for propulsion while proceeding to and from fishing grounds.
