Reconstructed 1560-ft long crossing of Hackensack River in New Jersey will contain 18 plate girder spans of which 16 are original; bascule will be converted to through truss that will clear water by 50 ft; bridge will carry 4 lanes of east-bound traffic, and neighboring new bridge will handle west-bound traffic; cutting of deck, raising of spans, and operation of cranes described.
