Research program conducted by CRC for FAA to establish suitability of fuels for use in commercial supersonic transport; based on review of possible fuel problem areas, research in field of thermal stability, and of anticipated fuel system environmental conditions, program was developed to obtain data required by airframe, engine, and petroleum industries to develop fuels and equipment for supersonic transport; objectives, approaches being followed, and results obtained to date are described.
