Safety record achieved by M.A.Gammino Construction Co in handling 680, 000 cu yd of rock excavation on Connecticut Turnpike project; excavation was handled by three basic spreads; cut was side hill involving fissured trap-rock removal into bluff immediately alongside railroad right-of-way; it was decided to take cut down in benches of about 24 ft; blasting was done in millisecond delay patterns.
