Welding operations must be carried out under conditions which will enable classification society concerned to give shipowner reasonable assurance that structure is sound; possible by cooperation between builders and surveyors, to obtain required assurance, provided proper scheme of operations is adopted and rigidly enforced; illustrations of current practice.
