Size of off-highway vehicles has increased rapidly, particularly in open pit mining industry for waste material removal; application of General Electric LM100 gas turbine as prime mover for large off-highway vehicles was considered and test program under actual working conditions carried out; standard two-axle, rigid frame, rear dumping truck, equipped with GE 772 electric wheels, was employed; problems encountered and solutions found.
