Integrated system for mechanized handling of railway cars embraces automatic marshaling of empty cars to required loading points and ejection of loaded cars into marshaling sidings; it handles up to 40 cars/hr; movement of cars at coal mine is mainly by gravity on inclines, but, for operations on level, use is made of rope-hauled propulsion unit, and remotely controlled device for moving single cars over relatively short strokes.
