Results of research project designed to test, evaluate, and compare four major trip distribution techniques are presented; techniques are growth factor procedures as developed by J.Fratar, gravity model currently used for mathematical travel formulas; intervening opportunities model developed by M.Schneider of Chicago Area Transportation Study, and competing opportunities model suggested by A.Tomazinis of Penn-Jersey Transportation Study; techniques present interesting contrasts in their approach to trip distribution problem.
