Built for William Doxford and Sons (Engineers) Ltd, by Joseph L.Thompson and Sons, both member companies of Doxford and Sunderland Shipbuilding and Engineering Group, 65,450-ton dw tanker has entered service of charterers, Shell Tankers Ltd; length oa 799 ft 7 in., breadth molded 110 ft, depth molded 56 ft 6 in., draft (summer) 41 ft 4 in.; capacity of cargo tanks 2,964,520 cu ft; normal service rating of 9-cyl engine is 16,000 bhp at 108 rpm and continuous service rating 20,280 bhp at 115 rpm.
