Method of obtaining smooth-riding high-speed curve introduced in Chicago Terminal Division of Pennsylvania Railroad by E. O. Wood, consists essentially of system of lap chords laid off on inside of rail in which middle ordinate of each chord is recorded; necessary instruments consist of foot-rule and piano wire 60 ft. long.
