Discussion of thrustmeter design, calibration, flight instrumentation and procedure, test results, and body-propeller interaction; it is concluded that use of shaft thrust measurements in routine flight testing to check calculated airplane performance does not appear very practicable until additional data have been obtained by which several corrections can be more accurately determined; thrustmeter, however, does have important value in determining relative efficiency of different propellers.
