Capella and Canopus of Finland Steamship Co, built at Oy Laivateollisuus shipyard, are in service between Finland and United Kingdom, carrying newsprint on outward voyages and export cars on homeward voyages; length oa 248 ft 2 in., molded breadth 38 ft 8 in., depth to upper deck 25 ft 5 in., draft as open shelter decker 11 ft 8 1/2 in. and closed 17 ft9 in., dw (open) 910 tons (closed) 2280 tons; grain cargo capacity 145,914 cu ft, bale 128,747 cu ft, cargo capacity (bale with car decks in position) 110,110 cu ft; two 8-cyl Wartsila engines each develop 1065 bhp at 750 rpm; plan.
