Successful trials of Hovermarine HM-2 hovercraft have been concluded; 16 ton craft, which can carry 60/65 passengers at service speed of 35 knots has rigid, immersed sidewalls and conventional marine screws for propulsion; HM-3 due to appear in 1969, is designed to carry both passengers and cars and will have weight of 70 tons; HM-4 has design weight of 125 tons and will be 160 ft long × 70 ft wide.
