Interaction between wave-making and viscous resistance is defined, and analysis of model results shows it to be negligible for this form; this permits accurate analytical expression of its viscous resistance coefficient for Re from 1.3-million to 23-million; expression is used to predict smooth ship resistance; comparison is made with Schoenherr, Telfer and 1957 International Towing Tank Conference lines; it is concluded possible to deduce ship viscous resistance extrapolators entirely from model experiments, and that accuracy of these will be superior to similar entities based on flat surface experiments.
