Consideration of design methods based on vortex theory; propellers for 2 nonoptimum loading cases were designed using different combinations of lifting line and lifting surface theories; models for one loading case were tested in open water and cavitation tunnel, and effective pitch and cavitation properties compared with theory; axial component of induced velocity behind propeller was measured in cavitation tunnel at different radii; optimum propeller was also designed, manufactured and tested.
