Port is designed to handle ships varying in size from 3000 to 100,000-dwt; concentrate arrives in 125-car trains and is automatically dumped by hydraulic device after locomotives are disconnected; swivel couplings are used; dumping is sequenced with conveying system; concentrate may be sent to storage or direct to ship; reclamation from storage is achieved by means of tunnel belts and vibrating feeders; surge bin at dock facilitates loading; ship loading is by vertical swing boom, retractable shuttle traveling shiploader.
